Seemage, Inc. (Newton, MA) and Auto-trol Technology Corporation (Denver, CO) are working together to offer technical illustration products for both 2D illustration and interactive production of rich deliverables created from 3D design data.

The new integration of Seemage and Tech Illustrator allows users to switch from 3D to 2D without having to adopt closed proprietary file formats. Users can choose the right functionality — 2D or 3D — for the required deliverable.

Based on open XML standards, Seemage content creation and management applications allow users to reuse original 3D design information, combined with critical data like bills of materials (BOMs) from ERP systems, to create product deliverables such as animations, technical illustrations, marketing materials, and service and support documentation.

Auto-trol's electronic publishing product, Tech Illustrator, enables compliance with 2D commercial and governmental standards like S1000D, ATA iSPEC 2200, and WebCGM 2.0. TI provides access to a variety of import methods from legacy hardcopy and electronic archives, and adds drawing, editing, and annotation tools.

Auto-trol will market, sell, and support the combined offering worldwide. For more info, go to auto-trol.com.
