Siemens PLM Software (Plano, TX) reported the availability of Version 37.0 of its D-Cubed 3D Component Software Solutions, featuring enhancements to its 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager, Assembly Engineering Manager, Collision Detection Manager, and Hidden Line Manager.
The 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM) provides dimension-driven, constraint-based design functionality to CAD/CAM/CAE applications and enables the efficient use of dimensions and constraints to position parts in assemblies and mechanisms, to control the shape of parts, and to produce 3D sketches.
The Assembly Engineering Manager (AEM ) enables CAD/CAM/CAE applications to simulate more realistically the motion of their assemblies and mechanisms, which is achieved by taking account of the mass properties of parts, the motion caused by a variety of engineering related forces and devices, and the interaction of parts as they collide and push each other around.
The Collision Detection Manager (CDM) is used in CAD/CAM/CAE applications that need to detect collisions and compute clearance distance calculations, optimized for interactive assembly modeling and mechanism simulation.
The Hidden Line Manager (HLM) is used in CAD/CAM/CAE applications that need to compute hidden line views of parts and assemblies. It enables the end-user to produce engineering drawings from 3D models and to clarify wireframe views by distinguishing between visible and hidden lines.
