SimForm, a cloud-based simulation software for mold design, now has expanded capabilities. Originally designed to accelerate the design of injection molds, SimForm now also supports the design of compression molds, broadening its utility to manufacturers and designers.

Mold Design

SimForm has been used in injection molding, offering users the ability to quickly and easily predict temperatures, optimize cooling channel placement, and improve the quality of molded parts. With the extension to compression molding, this new feature allows users to leverage the cloud-based platform to design tools for compression molding.

Features for Compression Molding

The compression molding tool design feature includes:

  • Part Quality Improvement: Users can predict how temperatures will evolve, helping identify potential issues like warpage or sink marks before they arise.
  • Optimization Tools: SimForm helps designers to optimize the placement cooling channels, ensuring uniform temperature distribution.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The same interface is now available for compression molding tool design.

"We are thrilled to expand SimForm's capabilities to compression molding tool design," says Jacob Harris, vice president of Software Products at Maya HTT, the company behind SimForm. "This addition is a direct response to feedback from our users who have been asking for a comprehensive tool that can handle both injection and compression molding."
