PTC debuts two new offerings from its cloud-native Onshape computer-aided design (CAD) and product data management (PDM) platform: Onshape AI Advisor, an intelligent, generative AI-powered assistant that enables advanced design productivity and expertise, and Onshape Government, a solution intended to meet the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) regulatory and compliance needs of U.S. government agencies and defense contractors, according to PTC.
Onshape AI Advisor features expert, AI-powered guidance on CAD workflows, PDM best practices, and platform capabilities. Developed on Amazon Bedrock, Onshape AI Advisor helps teams transition from legacy CAD and optimize designs, PTC claims. Onshape Government is a purpose-built version of Onshape, designed to help assist in compliance needs of U.S. federal and state agencies, defense contractors, and organizations working on regulated projects, according to PTC. Hosted on AWS GovCloud (U.S.), Onshape Government enables compliance with regulations such as ITAR and EAR while offering streamlined collaboration and version control and accessibility benefits.
