SimLab Soft has announced the release of SimLab Composer 2.4, which introduces a decal system that enables the user to add decals to a single or multiple faces. Created decals are used in rendering and are viewable in generated 3D PDF files.

SimLab Composer 2.4

SimLab Composer 2.4 focuses on material management with new capabilities and a revised GUI that assists the user with the rendering process by combining identical materials, and changing properties of multiple materials simultaneously.

Other features include:

  • Generated 3D PDF files can now include rendered preview images.
  • 3D PDF creators will be able to add logo to the generated 3D PDF files
  • Support for a depth-of-field effect to provide the user with more realistic rendered image.

Also included are new numerical controls for setting location, orientation and scale of objects and pivots. In addition to geometry, states, and materials, the new version of the free SimLab CAD viewer for iPad now supports reading animations from SimLab Composer 2.4.
