DesignPoint Solutions (Clark, NJ)  announced SolidNEST, an automatic nesting and NC programming solution for sheet metal and profile cutting that runs inside SolidWorks (Concord, MA). Based on SigmaNEST’s nesting technology from SigmaTEK Systems, LLC (Cincinnati, OH),  SolidNEST enables users to nest and generate NC code without leaving the SolidWorks interface.

SolidNEST combines the nesting power of SigmaNEST with SolidWorks for a seamless transition from a 3D model in SolidWorks to generating NC code for laser,  plasma, oxyfuel, waterjet, router, and punch through a single SolidWorks interface. SolidNEST is a SolidWorks Certified Gold Product, which eliminates the need for an additional CAM program that transitions between SolidWorks and an NC code generator.

Through SigmaNEST’s TrueShape nesting algorithm, SolidNEST supports parts in parts,  multiple torches, and remnant nesting. TrueShape nesting offers companies the power to reduce remnant material inventory, speed up NC programming, improve material utilization, create efficient nested part layouts, produce NC programs,  and maximize production.

Many companies use SolidWorks to achieve optimal productivity in design; now with SolidNEST, companies can also achieve optimal productivity in material utilization and machine motion.
