Standex-Meder Electronics, a manufacturer of miniature switches, sensors and relays, has stated that its MK02, MK11, MK12P, MK26 and MK27 series of reed sensors are now rated IP67. With this accreditation, the sensors are completely protected against dust and against the effects of immersion between 5 inches and 3 feet.

The rating system used, the Ingress Protection (IP) scale, meets standards established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), as well as British and European qualifications. It upholds environmental protection against solids and liquids of enclosures around electronic equipment. This ensures that users will know the components are to survive various applications.

Standex-Meder also offers planar, Rogowski, current as well as low- and high-frequency transformers and inductors. It serves the automotive, medial, test and measurement, appliance and general industrial markets.

“This rating provides a unique advantage that for our customers who deal in the most extreme conditions,” said Alexander Weber, product manager for Sensors at Standex-Meder, “Products which are IP67 rated can survive where other similar components would fail — for example, when submerged in water. This rating is a testament to the durability and quality of our offering.”
