Tech Soft 3D, provider of engineering software development tools, reveals that HOOPS Exchange now supports importing DGN files. This adds to its expansive selection of supported formats, strengthening HOOPS Exchange as a solution for developers working across multiple industries.
The DGN file format is most commonly associated with the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry and is known for its ability to manage large, complex datasets. This new DGN reader adds to the existing support HOOPS Exchange has for formats in AEC including IFC, Revit, Navisworks, and DWG.
“By adding DGN support, we’re giving developers the tools they need to build solutions that align with real-world construction and engineering requirements,” says Marco Salino, product manager, Data Access and Publishing. “This update helps ensure that developers can work with the formats their customers rely on most, without compromising on data quality, performance, or workflow efficiency.”
The DGN format is used within AEC industries thanks to its high accuracy and precision when working with complex designs. Because of its interoperability with other CAD systems, HOOPS Exchange’s support for the DGN format will benefit developers working in this space. By adding DGN reading support, HOOPS Exchange moves toward becoming a leading data access tool for 3D engineering applications in the AEC space.
