Third Wave Systems provides machining modeling software used to optimize machining processes. The company’s flagship product, AdvantEdge FEM, is a CAE software solution for the optimization of metal cutting.

The AdvantEdge Production Module integrates workpiece material properties, CAD/CAM inputs, and machine dynamics. Combining these factors allows users to improve cycle times, avoid unnecessary capital equipment expenditures, and maximize machine performance, according to the company.

Third Wave Systems will be hosting an AdvantEdge workshop on May 12, 2009, in Fort Worth, TX, at the Marriott Solana. There is no cost to attend the workshop; however, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the attendee.

All attendees will receive:

  • Overview of the features and functionality of AdvantEdge FEM and AdvantEdge Production Module, including hands-on training with personal computers (provided)
  • Complimentary 60-day trials of both software packages,  including technical and applications support
  • Temporary parallel upgrade for AdvantEdge FEM at no additional charge (new and existing users), providing faster calculations on both 32- and 64-bit computers by utilizing up to 8 cores
  •

Attendees are encouraged to gather their own process data to begin setup and analysis within the AdvantEdge software. Those interested in exploring AdvantEdge FEM should bring STEP files/tool geometries and cutting conditions; those interested in exploring AdvantEdge Production Module should bring tool paths, tool lists, and solid models of parts to be machined. Course instructors will be available to assist in project setups.
