ASCON Group (St. Petersburg, Russia), developer of KOMPAS-3D, and TraceParts (Saint Romain, France) announce the integration of their solutions making it possible for KOMPAS users to work directly with the TraceParts library.

Said to be one of the largest mechanical parts libraries in the world, users can now import more than 100 million 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, containing European-based and other parts suppliers in the tooling, machinery, aerospace, automotive, and other industries. The selected parts are available in the KOMPAS native format and automatically inserted into the current assembly as native 3D models.

In a second announcement, ASCON and 3Dconnexion (Fremont, CA) announce a partnership in which KOMPAS-3D V9 now completely supports the 3D mice product line (SpacePilot, SpaceExplorer, SpaceTraveler, and SpaceNavigator) for professional parametric 3D modeling and 2D drafting.

This cooperation will allow designers, engineers and other KOMPAS users to experience a improved navigation control and increase productivity and drawing accuracy by using navigation input devices. Simply push, pull, tilt, or twist the controller cap to simultaneously pan, zoom, and rotate 3D objects and environments designed in KOMPAS.
