While it may be nearly two years away from being a standard, some IT pioneers are already deploying 802.11n wireless networks (this might have something to do with 11n’s maximum data rate of nearly 250 megabits per second, almost five times faster than 802.11g!)
Since wireless networks are usually so much slower than cabled nets, it’s actually fairly common to use unratified wireless technologies just to take advantage of the speed.
Knowing this to be the case, AirMagnet, Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) is shipping a mobile wireless LAN analyzer that can track speeds, devices, conversations and interference issues of an 11n network.
