TYAN announced its new Yellow River (YR) series products during Computex 2009. TYAN YR series features with high computing density targeting both enterprise and IPDC applications. TYAN also showcased the latest platforms supporting the new six-core AMD Opteron processors and the Intel Xeon 5500 processors at Computex.

The TYAN YR series doubles the computing power within the same rack space compared to traditional implementation, according to the company. Other than density, TYAN YR provides designs that match IT requirements, such as serviceability, expandability, manageability, and dedicated power per node.

TYAN showcased four different YR products at Computex 2009,  which target different application segments. YR170-B520M is a low-power-consuming server platform, YR188-B537M consumes an average of 150W in most of enterprise applications, YR190-B7018 and YR290-B7018 are both dual-socket platforms with different in-place expandability.

TYAN also showcased seven platforms supporting Intel Xeon 5500 series processors at Computex 2009. TYAN S7025, the latest TYAN Nehalem platform, supports two Intel Xeon 5500 series processors and up to 64GB of R-DDR3 memory. It provides seven PCI-E/PCI expansion slots, which include four true PCI-E Gen.2 x16 slots. It also supports up to four PCI-E Gen.2 x16,  double-deck GPU adapters. The TYAN S7025 will be in the mass production stage in late June. The other six TYAN solutions are all shipping now.

There are also 17 TYAN current products and two new platforms supporting the new six-core AMD Opteron processors, which will be in mass production in late June.
