VariCAD(Czech Republic) announces a new version of its 3D/2D mechanical CADsystem. Unlike the previous Linux versions of VariCAD, the new VariCAD2005 3.0 has less dependency on system files and allows running thesoftware on more distributions of Linux.

The new VariCAD 2005 3.0 also has other enhancements, includingimprovements in STEP interface allowing input and output of 3D objects,new high-resolution bitmap output from 3D, new user-defined defaultsettings, dimensioning, and an updated user interface.

The new version is also available for Windows. Free trial versions are available for download from varicad.com.
