The newest VectorWorks 2008 family of design software, from Nemetschek North America (Columbia, MD), which was announced in September, is now circulating throughout Europe, as distributors completed tailoring VectorWorks 2008 to meet the needs of a dozen European markets, including Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland.

English-language versions of VectorWorks 2008 were released in the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and other international markets on September 13. Not only are the 2008 versions said to offer improvements in the simplified interface, new tools and streamlined workflows, collaboration and CAD management capabilities, and enhanced 2D and 3D presentation features, but Nemetschek North America just announced a technology update.

that it has tested VectorWorks 2008 against its latest seed versions of Mac OS X Leopard. The company expects the VectorWorks 2008 Service Pack 1 to work well without further attention when Leopard is released. However, since Nemetschek will not see the final version of Leopard until it becomes public, the company will commit to fully support Leopard with the VectorWorks 2008 product, even if it requires an additional maintenance release after the final version of Leopard becomes available.
