Vero International(Bingham Farms, MI) will exhibit its CAD/CAM solutions for the mold anddie tooling industry, VISI-Series release 13 and Machining STRATEGISTversion 7, at MIDWEST APEX 2005 in Novi, MI, September 13-15.

The VISI-Series offers a combination of applications including fullyintegrated wire-frame, surface, and solid modeling, comprehensive 2Dand 3D high-speed machining strategies, 2- and 4-axis EDM, anddedicated tools for plastic injection molds and progressive dies. Amongthe new features, VISI-Modeling offers additional functionalities forsurfaces management, new split plane relief application, improvedassembly manager, and new SolidWorks and Solid Edge direct translators;VISI-Machining provides faster and easier to use rest machiningstrategies, improved calculation speed for all operations (average 30percent faster), and a new triangulator algorithm for optimizedmeshing; and VISI-Mold and VISI-Progress features a new environment fora more flexible management of standard components. VISI-Mold alsooffers new tool assembly based on easy to access templates.

Machining STRATEGIST, the company’s standalone CAM package, featuresmany unique capabilities for high speed-machining (HSM). At the sametime, many of these strategies can improve the productivity of olderCNCs with dramatically reduced air-cutting time and programs thatinclude a smoothing arc that helps maintain continuous machine toolmotion. New features in Machining STRATEGIST 7 include Rest Machining, based on a new algorithm, for more efficient management of both steepand shallow areas; Arc Fitting for enhanced point reduction andsmoother tool motion; a new Triangulator that means fewer triangles aregenerated to help reduce the size of MSA files and memory usage; andCalculation Speed enhancement showing a more than 50 percentimprovement in benchmark testing.
