CircuitStudio, according to the company, will provide users with an interface that delivers a set of functionalities powerful enough for professional use while being easy to implement. The application will be based on straight-forward schematic capture and project management tools as well as a PCB design engine that supports 3D PCB editing.
While the software will not be released until 2015, the company says it is looking for users to participate in the Beta process.
“We are excited about the partnership with element14 and the benefits this will bring to PCB designers,” said Jason Hingston, chief technical officer, Altium. “With CircuitStudio, we will deliver a product with a modern interface that will be easy to use yet powerful enough for professionals. More than 25 years of Altium R&D experience around PCB design tools built the foundation for a product that designers can pick up and design with when needed and we are looking forward to the launch of CircuitStudio together with element14.”
