Geometric Software Solutions (Mumbai, India) released the new version of GeomCaliper for Pro/ENGINEER, a tool for measuring and checking wall thickness of Wildfire 3D models.

GeomCaliper 2.0 detects thin areas in plastic molded components that might warp or thick sections in castings that could result in hot spots. The software has the ability to cut cross sections, edit names in critical regions during analysis, and display chord distance in the sphere method. It produces customizable reports in XML/HTML format.

Also new to the market is the most recent version NestLib, Version 19, which provides algorithms for true shape nesting. NestLib v19 has overlap detection ability, a new module for tube nesting, and tolerance support for oversized parts. It also computes total cost of the inventory consumed.

NestLib is available on Microsoft Windows (including 64-bit), Sun Solaris, and Linux platforms and can be ported to Mac OS on demand.
