Aras Launches Technical Documentation Application

The software is based on the company's Innovator architecture.

Aras, a provider of PLM (product lifecycle management) software, has released its Technical Documentation application. This platform, the company states, provides capabilities for authoring, visualizing and publishing of regulatory, safety and technical publications.

Built on the Aras Innovator platform, this application uses PLM content during the authoring process to reduce rewriting and error. Document revisions and engineering change orders automatically trigger updates, improving accuracy, the company states.

Technical Documentation was built in partnership with Orio AB and is a Web-based solution.

“Often companies create product catalogs by pulling data from multiple disconnected systems, which is a slow process with many possibilities for errors,” said Thomas Kjellberg, Chief Technology Officer, at Orio. “This solution enables a single PLM based  engineering and technical publication authoring environment for multi-lingual, multi-program, multi-application and multi-brand requirements, meaning that we’re able to produce manuals and catalogs faster, while ensuring product documentation embeds already approved product data.”
