"We're planning to implement the updates in all ISV products in the coming months," said CCE's vice president of sales and marketing, Vinay Wagle. "Our initiative to implement updates across all of CCE's 3D CAD interoperability technology will include secure design, threat modeling, secure coding, security testing and best practices surrounding privacy."
The technology reduces opportunities for attackers to exploit potential weak spots or vulnerability in the application; provides disabled or restricted access to system services, applying the principle of least privilege, and employing layered defenses wherever possible; and prevents malicious activity targeting software.
"As a result, customers can realize the security benefits of 3D CAD interop technology to get their jobs done safer and faster," said Wagle.
CCE's interoperability technology supported file formats include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/E (Creo), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, STL, VDA-FS and 3D PDF. Applications developed using CCE's technology are independent of any form of CAD software or licensing. Operating systems supported consist of Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
