AccuMetria(Eugene, OR) has released CMMWorks version 2.0, its off-line coordinatemeasuring machine (CMM) programming and simulation software packagefully integrated into SolidWorks 2006 3D mechanical design software.Engineers and manufacturers use CMMWorks and SolidWorks to inspectparts and assemblies so they can create better products faster and moreaccurately, speeding time to market.

Version 2.0 of CMMWorks offers a variety of enhancements and newfeatures for creating CMM programs, such as new tools to streamline theinspection of parts with repetitive geometry. A SolidWorks SolutionPartner product, CMMWorks has new tolerance creation and managementtools. CMMWorks 2.0 also features new tools for inspection pathgeneration using SolidWorks intersection curves and improvedprogramming visualization and feedback.

CMMWorks reduces CMM downtime, allows direct use of original SolidWorksgeometry, and helps prevent probe collisions through the use of CMMmotion simulation. CMMWorks uses dimension and tolerance informationdirectly from the SolidWorks model, drawing, or assembly. Full on-linedocumentation and tutorials are provided, as are integratedpostprocessors for DMIS 4.0, GeoMeasure, MeasureMax, Tutor, andMicroMeasure 4. With an easy-to-use graphical user interface, CMMWorkshas an intuitive and powerful environment for creating and editing CMMpart programs. CMMWorks can also import CAD geometry from sources suchas STEP, IGES, ACIS, SAT, and others.
