Contex, a provider of wide-format scanning and imaging solutions, has revealed the SD One, the market's first scanner designed for the desktop. The system is available in 24 and 36 in. models and is equipped with Nextimage scanning software.

Ideal for engineering and construction drawings, users can scan documents directly to the cloud with the SD One. This connectivity is available for Google Drive, Dropbox, Box and Microsoft One Drive. Changes can be captured as scanning occurs, with date and time stamping.

The SD One can scan documents at up to 600 dpi, is Energy Star certified and has Automatic Image Quality for instant cleanup and alignment. Supported file formats include JPG, TIF, PDF and PDF/A.

“This is the first time that a wide format scanner has been designed to be placed on someone’s desk,” says Morten Nielsen, global marketing director, Contex A/S. “The SD One is a convenient tool that is within immediate reach, allowing users to instantly capture documents, as builts, and other design changes as they are received. It’s a tremendous time-saver.”
