Cranes Software International Limited (Bangalore, India) has launched NISA V 15.0, the latest version of its FEA package. The company says it contains "significant improvements."

There is multiple support excitation capability to handle non-uniform support excitation problems, and USNRC rules are now supported. Seventeen new crack propagation configurations are now included with ENDURE. In addition, FEM models for plates, pipes, and elbows with blunt cracks can now be generated automatically for user-specified geometric dimensions and applied loads.

3D-Magnetodynamic analysis without massive conductors for harmonic current sources is now supported in NISA/EMAG using the magnetic vector potential approach. Also, 3D-Transient Magnetic analysis with and without massive conductors for arbitrary time varying current sources is available using the magnetic vector potential and electric scalar potential approach

The SAT to NEUTRAL translator has been upgraded to support ACIS R16 Geometry Kernel. SolidWorks 2007 and IGES Version 5.3 are also now supported. CAD translators such as ProE to Neutral, Advanced IGES to Neutral, CATIA V4 to Neutral, and CATIA V5 to Neutral are now available.

"This release has substantial enhancements addressing the seismic analysis requirements of power industry," said Dr. Ramdass Keshavamurthy, vice president NISA product development. "Noteworthy improvements have been made to address the interoperability of NISA with other CAD/CAE tools."
