Stratasys (Minneapolis, MN) announced that Swedish prototyping and engineering firm Digital Mechanics purchased a Stratasys FDM 400mc system to add to its family of direct digital manufacturing and rapid prototyping machines.

In order to keep up with growing customer demand for FDM parts delivered on tight deadlines, the firm bought its fourth Stratasys machine.

Digital Mechanics has doubled in size over the past year,  expanding its business to supply prototype parts to companies in the automotive industry throughout Northern Europe and the U.S. FDM technology has enabled the company to decrease the turnaround times from the design and development phase through to the delivery of parts to its international customer base.

Qualities of the FDM 400mc that Digital Mechanics attributes to its success are enhanced accuracy, repeatability, material properties and speed.
