dSPACE Launches Embedded PC Extension

dSPACE has launched it Embedded PC extension for the compact prototyping system, the MicroAutoBox II. The device is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor. It is ideal for in-vehicle design use.

The i7, according to the company, provides the processing power needed for Windows applications. These include control systems such as advanced driver assistance, infotainment and telematics. Sensors used in the control system can generate large amounts of data, which is then able to be processed by the MicroAutoBox.

The MicroAutoBox II also has 8GB of DDR3 RAM and 128GB of flash memory (64GB integrated, 64GB flexibly via CFast card). It can be used with Windows 7, or Ubuntu/Linux. Users can also choose Embedded PC variant with the Intel Atom N270 processor.
