EPLAN, a provider of engineering solutions and software, has released version 2.5 of Harness proD. This version has improvements for nail board design, cable routing and project management for wire harness engineering. A preview function has also been added to verify correct positioning on the first design attempt.

According to the company, development has focused on optimizing user workflows and coupling capabilities for 3D wire harnessing. By integrating wire harnessing with the platform's central parts management system, it reduces the effort to maintain master databases and allows for continuous workflows and schematics.

Also available in version 2.5 is simple 3D component positioning, simplifying the positioning process. Importing for AutoCAD has been improved as well as editing for DWG and DXF drawings. With importing, all relevant content is extracted, speeding up the part creation process.

For nail board design, Harness proD 2.5 has now separated the "data layer" from the "display layer," giving users a large amount of flexibility. Display configurations let users to view a drawing without having to change the data.

Batch processing of updates has also been added to project management capabilities.
