ETAS Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI; en.etasgroup.com) has released the new ES400 micro-I/O and measurement modules for placement near sensors, even if the sensors in question are located inside a vehicle's engine compartment or wheel wells.
Two ES400 modules have been released: the ES411 with 4 A/D channels and active sensor power supply, and the ES420 with 8 thermocouple channels.
With a new Ethernet cabling concept, ES400s can be daisy-chained together and connected to a PC by a single cable. In addition, a single small-diameter Ethernet PC cable can be run through a vehicle's bulkhead into the passenger compartment, eliminating the need to scrap a vehicle when testing is complete.
ES400 modules are supported by ETAS' INCA calibration and measurement software. ES400s support a standardized XCP-on-Ethernet protocol, which allows connection with third-party software such as LabVIEW and DEWESoft.
