FARO Technologies announced the release of the new FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D X130, the newest member of Focus3D X Series range of laser scanners. With a scanning range of 130 meters, the company says the scanner is ideal for mid-range scanning applications such as architecture, construction, civil engineering, facility management, forensics, historical preservation, industrial manufacturing, and shipbuilding applications.

The ultra-portable scanner enables accurate measurements of objects and buildings. With its integrated GPS receiver, the laser scanner is able to correlate individual scans in post-processing. It also comes with a class 1 "eye safe" laser.

"The touch-screen of the Focus3D X 130 is as easy to operate as a smart phone," said Ralf Drews, managing director of FARO Europe. "With a battery runtime of 4.5 hours, the laser scanner also has a high level of flexibility and endurance. The Focus3D's light weight, small size and SD-card storage capability makes the scanner truly mobile. We can offer this quality at prices which are certainly unique to the market."
