GHOST 3D Announces New Autodesk 3ds Max 9 Support

New 3ds max 9 and Autodesk VIZ plug-ins are now available from GHOST 3D, LLC (Castro Valley, CA), a provider of 3D modeling, conversion, digitizing, and reverse engineering products. GHOST 3D’s solutions include Power Modeler Pack, Power Digitizer Pack, ResErect, Scribe-iT, and Surf-iT, among others.

The Surf-iT and Power Modeler Pack software products provide a full suite of modeling tools using both 3D and 2D design and drawing techniques. Each product has Spline surface modeling systems with non-linear parametric conversion features. Users can frame out complex surfaces by drawing, refining, and editing using Spline-based patches, then convert to subdivision surfaces, editable subdivision polygon objects, NURMS, NURBS, or mesh, and then export to popular file formats. Surf-iT and Power Modeler Pack produce content that can be used with most tools in the 3D production pipeline. Additional highlights include parametric drag-and-drop 3D-Spline objects, advanced surfacing, and many editing enhancements.

Scribe-iT and Power Digitizer Pack offer 3D digitizing, reverse engineering, and 3D modeling tools to create 3D models and geometry from physical objects. Evolved from the very first digitizing solution for 3ds max and Autodesk VIZ, Scribe-iT and Power Digitizer Pack allow users to design, create, animate, and interact with physical objects in 3D scenes. Scribe-iT and Power Digitizer Pack support CMMs, 3D scanners, and digitizers through integrated GHOST 3D Systems, including MicroScribe, FaroArm devices, and others.

ScanLab (while not yet available for 3ds max 9) offers a parametric point-cloud mesh surfacing solution, and ResErect offers Mesh, Patch, Primitive, and Spline conversion to optimized Splines, preservation of animation, rebuilding of the Splines, preparation for surfacing, and import capability for Hash’s Animation Master patch-based models.
