Granta Design has updated six reference data modules, providing property data and related information from leading sources for metals and plastics. These include MI-21, Stahldat SX, NIMS, Prospector Plastics, CAMPUS and M-Base.

The company also links materials information together in its MaterialUniverse, a catalogue of nearly 4,000 generic materials types.

MI-21 comprises data from the World Metals Index and The Welding Institute. Updates include a new, easier search and report functions. The Stahldat SX module now includes a new table of hardenability properties. The National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS) has updated to include significantly revised creep data.

For updates to plastic modules, the Prospector Plastics program includes the latest data and a new section distinguishing cured and uncured properties. The CAMPUS database includes all the latest data, as well as an approximately 10% increased coverage of polymer grades.

“The latest updates to our expanding library of reference data provide our GRANTA MI and CES Selector customers with even better access to high-quality, up-to-date materials data, all in one place,” said Patrick Coulter, Chief Operating Officer at Granta Design. “This is invaluable for making smart materials decisions, saving time and money, and supporting the development of better, greener, safer products.”
