Cyon Research Corporation (Bethesda, MD) released The Engineering Design Revolution — The People, Companies and Computer Systems That Changed Forever the Practice of Engineering, David E. Weisberg's new book on the history of the computer-aided design (CAD) industry.

Weisberg started the history project when he recognized that we were losing the pioneers of the industry. He took up the task of interviewing those pioneers, and the result, five years later, is an engaging history covering more than 60 years of CAD technology starting with the development of numerical control tooling in the mid-1940s at MIT, through the early days of academic research and an in-depth discussion of the companies and people who made this industry a reality.

The book is downloadable in PDF format at no charge at cadhistory.net. Weisberg is requesting that readers consider contributing to the Cancer League of Colorado Foundation in recognition of the value the 650-page book.
