3D printing company MakerBot has entered a distribution agreement with New York-based Adorama by forming an in-store partnership. The photography and video store will also act as a reseller for the 3D prototyping products.

Adorama will feature MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D printers and the Digitizer Desktop 3D scanner in-store and online. The retailer also plans to sell MakerBot filaments.

"MakerBot's agreement with Adorama is a major step forward in expanding our retail presence to bring 3D printing to a variety of different retailers and locations, said Mark Schulze, vice president of sales at MakerBot. "In the past three decades, Adorama has evolved from its modest beginning as a mom-and-pop store to become one of the best known and most respected retailers for photo, video and imaging projects. Adorama's passion for innovation, creativty and customer services makes the store a great addition for showcasing the exciting 3D printing technology that MakerBot offers."
