VRMesh 3.0 from VirtualGrid (Seattle, WA) is a sketch-based free-form3D mesh modeler for arbitrary triangle mesh creation and processingsuitable for reverse engineering, free-form modeling, and rapidprototyping. Performance and speed, claims the company, are as amongthe program's strengths, citing the software's ability to covert onemillion point clouds to meshes in only a few minutes on a regular PC.

VRMesh 3.0's marking tools help you mark interested edges or regions toprocess or preserve. Using its Project and Paste capability, you canproject a source object onto a target surface, and the source objectwill be deformed according to the change of its boundary curve.
.
Features include an analysis wizard to determine what is wrong with theSTL file; sharp, enhanced, and boundary smoothing functionalities; andthe ability to extend and extrude boundary along tangential/normaldirection. Miscellaneous features include the ability to create andexport (DXF) section or feature curves; a Unify normals ability thatfixes complicated errors using heuristic method; and Boolean operationscapable of handling any two organic objects.

VRMesh 3.0 runs under Windows. It costs $695. Click here to download a free trial version. Click here for further details.
