MSC Software Releases Apex Diamond

By DE Editors

July 28, 2015

MSC Software has updated its MSC Apex CAE platform. This version of of the software includes an enhanced Apex Modeler and the second release of the Apex Structures add-on.

The updated Apex Modeler now has:

  • An incremental workflow to create midsurface geometry that can speed the process by 10x. It involved the creation and pre-configuration of pairs that act as guides for midsurface extraction and creation.
  • Midsurface extraction methods that are available for a larger range of thin structures composed of injection molded plastics, metals and composite materials.
  • Capability to rapidly construct solid element and surface meshes and added support for hex meshing and mesh seed point constraints.
Apex Structures, according to the company, has enhanced regenerative analysis readiness so checks are automatically completed while users work on their models. It is also adaptive, meaning that it will account for any changes in the mesh, loads, boundary conditions or thickness properties.
