Océ has announced its PlotWave 300 system, a monochrome multifunction system that makes it simpler and less time-consuming for users to print, copy, and scan low volumes of technical documents, according to the company.

The compact, all-in-one large format system is designed for businesses looking to save money and space in their document production process.

“This new system addresses the trend to decentralized printing that we are seeing in technical documentation,” said Patrick Chapuis,  president Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. “In such an environment, systems must be easy to use, energy efficient and quiet,  instantly ready to print when needed, and able to withstand the workload of multiple users.”

The Océ Plot Wave 300 printer incorporates Océ Radiant Fusing technology to provide an efficient way to fuse toner onto paper. Thin metallic tiles made of an alloy are used to efficiently radiate heat so they heat up and cool down very quickly. That means the system starts up instantly,  uses half the energy of comparable systems, makes no noise when it is idling,  and requires no extra ventilation to keep it cool, according to the company.

The system has a USB flash drive that lets users print and scan documents at the system. The output delivery tray is positioned on top of the system and uses air separation to prevent paper from curling and falling to the floor. The automated roll changing system automatically loads, cuts, and registers the size of the paper, and its loading station eliminates the need for an extra table next to the machine. Scanning originals are fed in face-up,  and the width is automatically registered to reduce scanning errors.
