Nikon SLM Solutions and Additive Assurance established a strategic partnership to integrate AMiRIS Inside, a fully integrable sensor and software platform, into Nikon SLM Solutions’ NXG platform. The AMiRIS Inside near-infrared optical tomography system will monitor all 12 lasers simultaneously within a production-scale metal additive manufacturing (AM) system, the companies report.
““By embedding AMiRIS Inside with Nikon SLM’s market-leading NXG platform, we’ve put the customer’s need for reliability at the heart of the solution,” says Marten Jurg, CEO, Additive Assurance.
“By bringing together Additive Assurance’s advanced monitoring technology and our high-productivity multi-laser systems, we are redefining what’s possible in large-scale metal AM,” says Simon Merkt-Schippers, vice president Research & Development, Nikon SLM Solutions. “This is the first time in the industry that 12 lasers are being observed simultaneously by a near-infrared optical tomography system—a milestone that underscores Nikon SLM Solutions’ leadership in industrializing additive manufacturing.”
The collaboration will deliver a fully integrated monitoring solution that provides real-time melt pool and layer analysis. Together, Nikon SLM Solutions and Additive Assurance are taking a step toward certifiable, serial AM production.
Attendees can find out more at Formnext 2025, where Nikon SLM Solutions (Hall 12.0, Booth D119) and Additive Assurance (Hall 12.0, Booth C01) will be showcasing this development.
Additive Assurance provides solutions for quality assurance of components made with additive manufacturing.
