Creaform sells unit 100 to car part supplier.

Creaform (Levis, QUE, Canada) introduced its Handyscan,self-positioning 3D laser scanner was last fall. One year later, it hassold unit nmber 100 to Visteon Corp., a supplier of car interiorplastic trim parts to OEMs and the aftermarrket.

The Handyscan 3D unit is deployed in the testing laboratory atVisteon’s Technical Center in France. There, the engineering teamanalyses and evaluate plastic deformations resulting from thermal andclimatic tests, including sun load tests. It’s estimated that theengineering team will save about one hour for each solar deformationtest using the Handyscan 3D.
