opdo launches its AI-powered optics co-pilot, a platform that enables engineers to generate advanced, manufacturable optical systems from one prompt—in minutes. The platform combines AI-driven simulation and optimization with integrated manufacturing, starting with volumetric lens fabrication and soon expanding to catalog optics and all major production technologies.
opdo was founded by Stephan Kuehr, founder of 3YOURMIND, the global platform for manufacturing automation, and former CCO of xolo, developer of Xolography—a manufacturing process for optical parts. He is joined by Yousef Arzhangnia, former AI engineer and optics specialist at xolo. Together, they bring deep expertise across optics, AI, and digital fabrication.
With opdo, engineers define optical intent using natural language. AI agents handle design, simulation, optimization, and prepare outputs for manufacturing. Through direct CAD integration, optics, mechanics, and electronics can be co-developed within a unified workflow.
“opdo makes optical design as accessible and integrated as electrical or mechanical CAD,” says Stephan Kuehr. “We’re bridging design and manufacturing through intelligent agents—so hardware teams can move faster from idea to physical product.”
