Open Design Alliance (ODA) today announced the release of version 3.9 of Teigha, its software development platform for engineering applications.

Version 3.9 incorporates production support for multi-threaded loading of .dwg files, and for multi-threaded rendering. MT support increases performance by a factor of two on average for a 4-core system. Teigha ACIS integration was updated to be compatible with version R23 of Spatial's ACIS Modeler.

"Multi-threading support is critical to cloud-based applications, and is becoming increasingly important on the desktop as well," said ODA CTO Neil Peterson. "Teigha 3.9 brings this technology to ODA member applications in an easy-to-use and transparent manner."

3.9 also marks the first production release of new Java support from Open Design Alliance. "The pervasiveness of Java today makes this an important milestone for the ODA," Peterson said. "We've seen strong early adoption of our Java beta releases, and we are looking forward to providing ODA technology to this important sector of the market."

Teigha 3.9 also contains fixes for 150+ member-reported issues, as well as a number of minor new features and enhancements.
