Optikos Corporation, a provider of optical engineering services and products, announced the appointment of Robert J. Ireland as its new sales director, worldwide operations.

Ireland is leading the company’s efforts to expand its optical and opto-mechanical engineering services and metrology product line, a company press release states. He enters this position after serving as executive vice president and general manager at Syntec Optics and Wordingham Technologies.

“We are delighted to have Robert join our senior management team. His experience in the optics industry, management and business development arrives at a time of rapid growth for Optikos. We welcome his guidance in continuing to expand our presence worldwide,” stated Stephen D. Fantone, president and CEO at Optikos.
