Pinion Software(Austin, TX), a provider of technical rights management solutions, announced the release of AutoShred-DWF to provide greater security fordesigns when shared electronically. Developed through the DWF PartnerProgram with Autodesk(San Rafael, CA), customers will be able to share DWF files throughoutthe supply chain with the ability to control the level of access usershave to the data-rich design files. AutoShred DWF is now available freeby clicking here.

Accordingto PriceWaterhouse Coopers, 70 percent of a company's value is based onits intellectual property, the majority of which is technical. Yet, asmanufacturers look to bring products to market faster, they are sharingtheir designs electronically and collaborating on projects with outsideconsultants, engineers, and production facilities. Using AutoShred-DWFenables the ability to shred or erase files from viewers' computersautomatically based on set command options.

"It is most important for companies to first protect their highestvalue information," advised Joyce Durst, president and CEO of PinionSoftware. "Maintaining control of content-rich and complete recordssuch as CAD files, design data and DWF intellectual property ensurescompanies realize productivity efficiencies without compromising theircompetitive position."

Pinion Software offerings allow recipients to work with technical fileson the files' native application, allowing CAD and other technicalfiles to perform operations or calculations and use real-time datawithout sacrificing file security. AutoShred-DWF continues PinionSoftware's goal of enabling designers and manufacturers to securesensitive information, throughout its lifecycle, from unauthorizedaccess and use.
