StarTech.com (Groveport, OH) has introduced a new line of dual-voltagePCI serial cards that enable you to re-map COM port settings to complywith legacy software applications. Previously, the ability to re-mapCOM settings was not available in PCI cards, causing problems foranyone using legacy software that requires specific COM ports to bemapped.

StarTech.com's new dual-voltage cards allow up to eight serial devicesto be connected to any system with a PCI or PCI-X slot. In addition toallowing you to map the appropriate COM port address, the re-mappingfeature also makes these cards suitable such for new or old hardware,including serial interface devices such as modems, printers, CNCmachines, kiosks, and ISDN terminals.

StarTech.com's dual-voltage serial cards are RoHS-compliant, thecompany reports. The re-mapping feature is compatible with systemsrunning DOS, Linux, or Windows operating systems up to 98.
