Safran Transmission Systems, an international high technology group, operating in the aviation (propulsion, equipment and interiors), defense and space markets, has selected MSC Software (MSC) to manage its simulation data and process information.

The project will be implemented using MSC's Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM) platform, SimManager. The web-based software was selected because it is easily deployed and its highly configurable simulation and test data management system enables Safran's to connect all phases from project initiation through product launch and beyond. SimManager addresses critical simulation process issues encountered by engineering, helping Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis organizations drive increased simulation throughput and efficiency.

"For several years, Safran Transmission Systems has been integrating the progressive development of digital technology as a performance lever in design, development and industrialization to increase performance, efficiency, robustness and to be more innovative and to reduce time-to-market," says Loïc Martin, engineer OMC at Safran Transmission Systems.

"Simulation is one of the most important assets for making design decisions," adds Arnaud Curtet, strategic aerospace account manager, MSC Software. "The volume and complexity of the simulation data are growing by orders of magnitude. Our customers appreciate our deep understanding of CAE issues and how insights gained from experiences can be captured using SimManager to help them achieve higher efficiency."

"Safran Transmission Systems launched an RFP to equip the Technical Department with a mechanical design & sizing platform scalable and sustainable for the next 20 years," says Loïc Martin, engineer OMC. "Implementing the discipline of Simulation Process and Data Management gets simulation activities completed efficiently and effectively, gaining the best return on all resources. Giving access to relevant data in real time, enhancing traceability and standarzing on tools & process will allow Safran to decrease development cycle time and increase product performance by introducing massively numerical simulation into the development process."

With SimManager, MSC Software provides high performance industrial companies a complete solution that brings together people, process, and technology to streamline simulation operations, and helps in developing a digital thread through design and engineering.
