| New modeling capability extends TracePro optical design and analysis software. Lambda Research Corp. (Littleton, MA) today, August 15, announced a new fluorescence modeling capability in its TracePro Expert, the company's software for modeling and analyzing the propagation of light in opto-mechanical systems.
With this new functionality, TracePro Expert users will be able to simulate fluorescence and address the design challenges inherent in fluorescence-based optical systems across such disciplines as biosensing, in-vitro and in-vivo medical diagnostics, spectroscopy, microarrays, flow cytometry, and microscopy. In addition to analyzing light distribution and scatter, enhancements to TracePro Expert enable users to import fluorophore data in solution or biological tissue and to analyze fluorescence effects at any point in the opto-mechanical system. An library of commercially available fluorophores, light sources, and optical components including fluorescence filters facilitate feasibility testing of off-the-shelf components.
TracePro Expert offers an intuitive user interface, and it's compatible with major CAD and lens design software. The fluorescence modeling capability will ship in August to users participating in Lambda’s Beta program. Lambda will demonstrate the new software at the SPIE Optics and Photonics Exhibition in San Diego, August 15 – 17. Click here to go to Lambda Research Corp.
