Dassault Systèmes has released SOLIDWORKS 2026, the latest update to its suite of 3D design tools. The new release includes generative artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate workflows, enhanced large assembly features, streamlined part design capabilities, improved collaboration and data manage, and hundreds of other enhancements.

According to the company, key new features/functions include:

  • Generative AI that speeds up drawing creation and detailing, and streamlines assembly creation by automatically recognizing and assembling components that look like fasteners—such as nuts and bolts—to save time and improve accuracy.

  • Integrated AI-powered virtual companion, to quickly extract knowledge from information by summarizing community posts, wikis, questions and ideas, capturing key takeaways, and generating increasingly relevant answers, to boost productivity and collaboration.

  • Enhanced large assembly features such as selective loading, to work smarter with more streamlined, production-ready workflows.

  • Enhanced user experience to stay on track even during internet disruptions, boosts productivity by highlighting commonly used commands, and gets users up to speed quickly with enhanced command search.

  • Improved part features, including streamlined physical product creation, faster sketching, and simpler flange start and end point definition in sheet metal, to speed up parts creation.

  • Drawing stamping with newly added user attributes, to ensure accurate and seamless change management while improving traceability and communication.

  • Managed cut lists on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform integrating both engineering and manufacturing bills of materials, to align design and production effortlessly.

  • Improved view of recent files showing only files relevant to the active tenant, to reduce clutter and prevent duplicates.

The new release also allows users to track maturity changes and view drawing history with Evaluated Attributes to eliminate manual updates, and share designs using 3DDrive and 3DSwym. There is also more flexibility for electrical, pipe and tube routing; streamlined ECAD/MCAD collaboration and design; more efficiend rendering (including the ability to reduce noise in fewer passess by enabling the Denoiser in CPU mode); and more productive import/export features.
