SQS  (Software Quality Systems) has launched a PLM test automation framework for Siemens PLM Software‘s Teamcenter portfolio of digital lifecycle management software. The framework enables reliable and scalable automated testing of Teamcenter installations, helping Siemens’s customers minimize downtime and ensure high levels of quality when customizing, deploying and integrating other PLM products,  according to the company.

SQS has worked with Siemens PLM Software for seven years, and began developing the automation framework in 2010. According to SQS, the framework ensures “optimal testing coverage, shortens release cycles,  reduces the risk of software failures and alleviates pressure on internal teams.” Automated regression testing also enables business-critical functionality to be maintained when Siemens PLM Software updates and patches are applied.

SQS will deliver the automation framework from its Test Automation FaQtory, a facility that applies industrial processes to manage and execute automated testing for large-scale environments. Multiple versions of Teamcenter were tested using the framework with approximately 5,000 automated test cases that were executed 46,000 times.

SQS is expanding its automation framework to include additional Siemens PLM Software product suites, as well as other CAD and ERP solutions that interface with Siemens PLM Softwares technology.
