StarTech.com, a manufacturer of connectivity parts, has revealed the upcoming release of the 4K Ultra HD Laptop Docking Station. It enables users to have the visual quality of a 4K Ultra HD monitor while connecting their laptop peripherals with a single USB 3.0 connection.

This new docking station, the company states, delivers a level of display performance that is not yet available on laptop docking stations, making it ideal for graphics-intensive applications. The technology also offers the option for users to turn their laptop into a full-featured, multi-monitor workspace by connecting a DisplayPort and an HDMI-equipped monitor. The 4K DisplayPort can support resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 pixels.

The docking station's features include a 4K DisplayPort video output, dual display support, integrated security lock slot, a 3.5mm 4-position TRRS headset port, Ethernet port and a 2ft USB host cable.

“Adding 4K video support to our Docking Station line shows StarTech.com’s continued commitment to enhancing productivity, while offering the latest technology in support of laptop and Ultrabook computers,” said Carey Cline, senior product manager for StarTech.com. “With 4K video, versatile external multi-display options, charging functionality for mobile devices and extra port connections for peripherals, this docking station is the ultimate addition to the user experience.”
