Volico Opens New Data Center in Florida

Volico, a provider of managed hosting, colocation and cloud computing, has opened a new 12,000 sq. ft. data center in Broward County, FL.

According to a company press release, this Tier IV data center includes a 2N+X redundant UPS Smart-Grid infrastructure and a 2N+X redundant generator Smart-Grid Paralleling Technology.

This paralleling technology allows Volico to use multiple floating generators, efficiently provide emergency power and have a high-performance backup system.

“We geared this new colocation facility specifically to meet the highest Tier IV Data Center Availability Standards — that means strong backup systems, minimal carbon footprint, and the most technologically advanced engineering methods to date,” stated Scott Cohen, senior data center engineer of Volico.
