XJet Extends Product Line by Introducing Two Versions of the Carmel 1400
The new, dedicated systems are the latest step in XJet’s journey to enhance metal and ceramic additive manufacturing, company says.

XJet Ltd is demonstrating the Carmel 1400M and Carmel 1400C as part of an updated product line at Formnext2019. The new, dedicated systems are the latest step in XJet’s journey to redefine metal and ceramic AM.
“Formnext is always a high point on XJet’s calendar. Each year we hit new milestones, and this is particularly evident at Formnext,” says Dror Danai, XJET chief business officer. “From Formnext, XJet will offer two systems, the Carmel 1400C devoted to ceramics and the Carmel 1400M dedicated to metals. While both systems use the same NanoParticle Jetting technology, they are different and have been optimized to handle the different materials. Both will be demonstrated on our booth throughout the show.”
NanoParticle Jetting (NPJ) technology enables the manufacture of metal parts that are complex, with details, smooth surfaces and accuracy.
XJet will demonstrate a variety of applications illustrating its NPJ technology for metal and ceramic additive manufacturing. New sample parts will be presented, showcasing the potential to produce parts that were previously impossible to manufacture. XJet’s TCT soluble support material will also be on display and visitors can experience this revolution in post processing speed first-hand.
One of the applications the XJet team will present at the show is how researchers at the University of Delaware (UDEL) have developed a new design for a low-cost, lightweight antenna solution that could overcome the challenge of deploying the 5G network affordably. UDEL found XJet NPJ technology to be the only manufacturing process capable of manufacturing the antenna and achieving the complexity, accuracy and smoothness required for the inner channels of the antenna. Not only are the complex geometry requirements met by XJet technology, but XJet zirconia also offers the right material properties such as density, uniformity and dielectric behavior needed for the antenna.
