3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, SC) unveiled Accura Greystone material, an engineered nanocomposite material for its stereolithography (SLA) systems. Still in its beta-testing stage, the material is designed for motorsport and aerospace applications, particularly in wind-tunnel testing, under-the-hood applications, uses requiring high thermal resistance, for insulating electrical components, and in manufacturing jigs and fixtures. The easy-to-use and easy-to-clean plastic, which is due to be released in Q208, can resist high temperatures, deliver accuracy, stiffness, thermal performance, and offers long-term stability, states the release.
