Advantech Launches Two-Port CAN-bus PCI-104 Communication Module

The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has introduced the PCM-3680I, a two-port 16MHz CAN-bus PCI-104 module with isolation protection.  The PCM-3680I is designed for connecting control units and transmissions in automation applications.

CAN enables real-time data transmission and error detection.  Even when errors accidentally occur, CAN networks will automatically repeat transmissions.  The PCM-3680I features an optical isolation protection of 2,500 VDC, which the company says ensures system reliability by protecting data against damage.

The PCM-3680I comes with a standard PCI-104 interface that helps ensure connections with other PC/104 modules. 

Other features include an LED indicated transmit/receive status on each port, an operating temperature range of -4
